ANA

1 min read
Three years ago I finished AnimationMentor with the firm intention of posting more work here. Sadly, my broke ass had to take a job to pay off some student debt that I had accumulated and that took priority over any picture making time. The job however, turned out to be working on an amazing animated feature film called ANA. There's so much stuff that I'd love to show from the film, but I can't do that just yet. However, the producer finally agreed to post online a pilot test we finished a year ago. I hope you guys like it: www.facebook.com/video/video.p…

Also, I just updated my site, I'll be adding new stuff over the coming months, and I'd love it if you were kind enough to visit: andrespalma.com/

Cheers!

It’s been ages since I’ve posted (or even visited) anything on dA. Truth be told I’m actually even a little surprised my account is still here, pretty much as I left it, even though I know dA is famous for keeping dead accounts on for years on end.  I spent the past two years working full time and putting myself through school at AnimationMentor (absolutely awesome program if animation’s your thing, I highly recommend it) so the time I spent making pictures was sadly cut down to practically zero. I graduated a month ago and I'm making a point of spending more time doing these things so I’m uploading an image I made over Christmas break to ease my way back in here. Hope you guys like it.

To all those who left a comment or a note I cannot thank you enough and extend you my sincerest apologies for being a jerk and not giving a proper reply. I’ll get to it right away.

EDIT: This is gonna sound like bullshit but I just noticed I got a Daily Deviation a couple of days ago! This is so cool, it sure feels like the best welcome treat back here.

sooo, dA5. I've heard a lot of bitching in the forums, but so far I like it. It'll get some time getting used to some things but there are some definite improvements in my opinion. So, to celebrate our new design I'm thinking of finally uploading a lot of old stuff that I've been meaning to get on dA for quite a while. Losing that safety net should at least give me a much needed push away from CG and back to painting, if only so I have more pictures sitting around to upload. Hope you like them. Lots of love to everyone around here.

Wow, it's been so long since last I visited dA i barely recognize the place anymore. My sincerest apologies to all those who left a kind message that I did not respond. I want to give extra thanks and apologies to Be17aiah who left great comments all over my gallery and actually featured me on his journal. He's doing a great job of showcasing cool stuff from dA so you might want to go and have a look over there.
So, once more, sorry for being a jerk. I know it's not much of an excuse but my life has been kind of upside-down as of late. I broke up with my girlfriend of two years, I moved from crazy New York City to this quiet little village south of Mexico City were the loudest noise usually comes from my house and I've been working non-stop on CG stuff which has kept me away from the drawing board. It's actually been pretty cool: I've been practically barefoot since October. A couple of weeks ago I actually found a six feet long spider web stretching from my car door to a nearby tree. How cool is that? It's come to summarize my definition of what I would like my life to be like: no shoes, no cars, no traffic, no problems. The biggest stress issues I have to deal with right now are always work-related, which is fine by me since I really, really dig my job. Right now I'm rigging a couple of characters in XSI (goodbye Maya!) which has brought me more grief than I ever thought a bunch of ones and zeros could possibly muster against me. I keep telling myself I shall prevail but at this rate I'm starting to fear it might take until 2008 for said prevailing to actually happen.
Anyway, I'm back, at least until I get sucked again into the evil world of CG, which will probably happen as soon as I finish writing this journal. I'm uploading some old drawings which constitute the basis for the stuff I'm currently working on in XSI and I'll be trying to upload a couple more photographs in the near future.

(On a lighter note, my website is up once more! I haven't really updated it or anything, but here's the link in case anyone wants to have a look andrespalma.com/ )
