I made this piece a couple of years ago, at a time when i was really brokenhearted. It was a bad relationship i should never had gotten into but by the time it ended it had become this huge thing in my life, and letting go rarely comes easy to me, so i started working on this as a way to put it behind me once it was finished. It kinda worked actually. The piece itself is composed of pencil drawings (the girl in question and the boxes surrounding her), pencil drawn over photographs (the wall background and the tree), digital photographs (the cages at the bottom), scanned imagery (the dragonfly wings), ripped carboard and acrylic-splattered gold leaf applied over hand-made amate paper. Finally everything was brought together in photoshop.

and for those that don't know spanish, thanks and thanks again fot the compliments, i was just whinning about how everything that could go wrong during the making of this piece did, not by bad luck or anything like that but due to sheer stupidity. Live and learn you know, at least it's made me appreciate it more in retrospect.
I really love this piece. The composition and the expression on the female is astounding, so is her position. Excellent pencil strokes and shading. Absolutely amazing.
